Lancia leads way to state

Division I: Watkins Memorial’s Nick Lancia (152) worked his way through the consolation round to take third place in the Division I district at Hilliard-Darby and qualify for the state meet Saturday.

Lancia pinned his first opponent, won the next two 12-1 and 13-2 and won his final match versus Jacob Hinz of Westerville North 7-1 to advance to state.

Newark’s Dan Pastorious lost his first match of the day, failing to qualify for state.

Division II: Sheridan had three wrestlers qualify for the state at the DII district tournament at Goshen.

Evan Loughman (182) finished second, going 3-1 with three pins, Darren Scott (195) took fourth place finishing 3-2 with three pins also, and RJ Waugh (182) finished in fourth going 4-2.
