Late Tuesday prep softball: Lincoln rallies for win

By

Trailing 9-7, the Manitowoc Lincoln softball team scored four runs in the top of the seventh inning to earn a road win over Green Bay Southwest on Tuesday night.

After allowing one run in the third inning, the Ships scored two each in the fourth and fifth to take a 4-1 lead. Southwest scored four runs each in the fifth and sixth innings but the insurance runs weren’t enough to hold off Lincoln.

Freshman Kaitlin Sukowaty pitched a complete game for the win, allowing 12 hits and one walk with six strikeouts.

Offensively, Lincoln was led by Sabrina Luedtke who was 3-for-4 with a home run, a double and a single and Alyssa Fischer who was 4-for-4 with a double.

Also for the Ships, Raissa Reynolds was 3-for-5 with two doubles and a single and Lainey Braun who was 3-for-5 with a single, double and triple.
