Grand Ledge held the visiting Rams close in the first half but in the end it was the experience of Holt as they raced away with a 60-37 CAAC Blue win on Jan. 25. With the win the Rams continue their successful season atop the league with a 6-1 record while running their team record to 10-2.
Grand Ledge, who rose above .500 two weeks ago, fell back to .500 even with a 6-6 record and a 3-4 CAAC Blue mark.
Holt slipped ahead 16-11 after the first period and held that five point lead at the half, 27-22.
The Rams exploded with a 22-11 third period edge and pushed their lead to 49-33 with just one period remaining in the game.
Nathan Megge led the Comets offense with 9 points while Damonick Hall closed with 8. Zach Artibee added 5, Xavier Beasley 2, JT Houghton 3, Cassell Jones 5, Tommy Maurer 2 and Jubraun McKinley 3.
Both teams hit four-three point baskets with Artibee, Jones, Houghton and Megge each hitting one.
Grand Ledge hit 7 of 14 from the free throw line while the Rams dropped in 6 of 13.
The Comets were idle on Tuesday evening.
