Whitney Kappler tied a school record with seven aces, and the UW-Sheboygan volleyball team twice rallied for a 25-18, 15-25, 25-14, 21-25, 15-8 over UW-Rock County on Monday.
Abby VanStelle had 13 kills, 13 assists, Vanessa Gudex contributed three blocks, 12 kills and 13 assists and MaKensie Gustafson added 16 digs for the Wombats, who improved to 2-8, 1-4 Wisconsin Collegiate Conference.
Lakeland College finished 12th at the 15-team MSOE Invite, held at Grand Geneva Resort on Sunday and Monday.
Lakeland shot a two-day total of 638 (328-310); Edgewood won the title with a 588.
Connor Clark, a freshman from Sheboygan Falls, tied for 17th overall after firing a 1-over 72 on Monday. He shot 80 on Sunday. Teammate Beau Gunderson, a junior from New Berlin tied for 22nd (77-77).
Lakeland freshman Finni Simko took second and fellow frosh Sami Jo Williams was ninth at the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference Championships, held at Trappers Turn in Wisconsin Dells.
Both were named All-NACC for their efforts. Simko was also named league Freshman of the Year.
The Muskies took seventh out of 11 teams at the meet, their best finish since 2006.
