THE BASICS

School: Baton Rouge Magnet (La.)
Grade: Junior
Height: 5-foot-5

Athletic achievement: She won three individual Class 5A state titles this spring and led the Bulldogs to the state championship as a team. Brisco won the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.55 seconds, the 200-meter dash in 23.85 and captured the 100-meter high hurdles in a Class 5A-record time of 13.87. She also anchored the 4×100-meter relay team to victory in 47.35 seconds and was named MVP of the Class 5A meet.  

Academic excellence: Brisco has maintained a 3.66 GPA.

Exemplary character: A devoted member of her church community, she has volunteered locally feeding the homeless.   

THE PRAISE

“She’s very, very competitive and gives her all, all the time,” said Baton Rouge Magnet head coach Zach Winfield. “She’s a very humble kid, but she’s such a fighter. You know if a race is close, she’s going to get it done.”

THE FUTURE: Brisco will be a senior next year.
