Drew Harrington of Central Hardin High School was named Gatorade Kentucky Baseball Player of the Year on Tuesday.
Harrington, a 6-foot-2, 220-pound senior left-handed pitcher and first baseman, has signed to play at the University of Louisville. He has led the Bruins to a 30-5 record and No. 1 ranking.
At the time of his selection, Harrington was 7-0 with a save, a 0.28 ERA and 89 strikeouts in 50 innings. He also batted .444.
The award also recognizes academic achievement and exemplary character demonstrated on and off the field. Harrington has a 3.59 GPA.
