Lourdes Academy pummels M/P/GL

There was no 53-point first quarter for Lourdes Academy this week.

But a 40-point half works just as well.

Charlie Noone ran for a pair of touchdowns and the Knights took control of their Trailways Large showdown against Montello/Princeton/Green Lake early in a 40-12 victory on Friday night.

Micah Decker opened the scoring with a 5-yard run on the opening possession for Lourdes Academy, which improves to 3-0 in league play and takes over sole possession of first place in the conference.

Noone capped the Knights second drive with a short touchdown run on the final play of the first quarter for a 14-0 lead.

Zack Weiher’s tackle-breaking 58-yard dash opening the scoring in the second quarter for the Knights, who also got short touchdown runs from Noone, Kyle Cerroni and Brian Dowling to take the 40-0 halftime lead.

The Phoenix didn’t score until late in the fourth quarter, getting a pair of touchdowns in the final five minutes.
