The Lourdes Academy girls track team will be well represented at the WIAA Division 3 sectional meet, thanks to a strong showing at the WIAA Division 3 Princeton regional, where they finished second as a team on Monday.
The girls had five total first place finishes and numerous qualifiers.
The Knights got three wins on their relays. The 800-, 1,600- and 3,200-meter relay teams all collected regional championships.
The other two came from a single individual in Nora Keller, who led two 1-2-3 Lourdes finishes by winning the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs. Abby Moore took second behind Keller in the 3,200-meter run and third in the 1,600-meter run while Maeve McDonald tokk second in the 1,600 and third in the 3,200 for the Knights.
The Knights also qualified Crystal Combs in the 400, Maddy Reed in the 800 and their 400-meter relay team. All three took third place for the Knights.
Valley Christian was able to qualify their 800-meter relay team, who took fourth in the event.
On the boys side, Lourdes got three first place finishes and took third place as a team.
Two of those three first-place finishes came from Hunter Neuens. Neuens took first in the 100-meter dash and the long jump for the Knights. He also qualified individually for the 200-meter dash, where he took second.
The other first-place finish came from Dylan Sommerfeld in the discus, with a throw of 150-05. He also took second in the shot put to qualify for sectionals.
Lourdes also pushed through Jake Ruhl in the discus, Lucas Weber in the 3,200-meter run and both the 400-meter and 1,600-meter relay teams to sectionals.
Valley Christian’s Luke Geffers also made it through it two events, taking second in the 3,200-meter run and third in the 1,600-meter run.
St. Mary’s Springs won both the boys and the girls team regional championships.
