Lourdes golfers capture title at Lake Breeze

Stockbridge had the medalist, but it was the Lourdes Academy golf team that walked away with the team title.

With three golfers finishing at 88 or better, the Knights edged Stockbridge by four shots to claim the Lake Breeze Invitational title on Friday.

Lourdes finished with a total of 351 to claim title just ahead of Stockbridge. Winneconne was third at 359, followed by a pair of Oshkosh West teams that finished fourth and fifth at 363 and 367, respectively.

Lourdes’ David Grunsted and Winneconne’s Adam Sitter tied for second among the individuals with rounds of 82 — three shots behind Stockbridge’s Jake Hilderath.

Brady Schneider of Lourdes added an 84, while Nathanial Jackson chipped in an 88 in the Knights’ win. Winneconne was aided by Cal Cottrell’s 89.

Oshkosh West, which didn’t bring its top varsity players to the meet, was led by Aric Lippold’s 87, while Connor O’Keefe and Noah Jameson each shot 88s.
