As expected, defending champion Madison was awarded the top seed for the 2013 Morris County Field Hockey Tournament, thanks to an 8-0 start during which it has outscored opponents 47-3. West Morris was awarded the second seed over Parsippany. Morristown-Beard was awarded the fifth seed thanks to 6-1 start.
The tournament starts this week with four preliminary games to be played at the home of the higher seed to be completed in the next few days and the first round, which must be completed by Saturday. The quarterfinals will also be hosted by the higher seed and is scheduled to be played Oct. 12. The semifinals and finals will both be at Boonton High School, with the semifinals scheduled for Oct. 19 and finals for Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 7 pm.
