Athletic achievement: He had led the Red Storm to an 11-1 record at the time of his selection. Through 12 games, Greenberg owned a 5-0 record and 0.66 ERA on the mound, and a .390 batting average with two home runs and 17 RBI at the plate. He was a Maine Underclass All-Star each of the past two seasons.
Academic excellence: Greenberg has maintained an A-minus average.
Exemplary character: He has volunteered locally on behalf of Ronald McDonald House Charities, youth baseball programs and community cleanup initiatives, and has raised funds to aid a school in Haiti.
