Position: Forward
Height: 5-foot-11
Weight: 170 pounds

Athletic achievement: He scored 19 goals and passed for five assists this past season, leading the Bulldogs (5-8-3) to the Eastern Maine Class A quarterfinals. The Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference and Morning Sentinel Player of the Year, Saunders was named a Scholar All-America by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America. He is also a two-time All-State competitor and was an All-New England selection by the NSCAA.

Academic excellence: Saunders has maintained an A average.

Exemplary character: He has volunteered locally on behalf of Big Brother Big Sisters of America and the Waterville Area Humane Society. 


“Saunders plays the game the right way,” said Ben Poland, head coach at Brewer (Maine). “As skilled as he is individually, he’s just as interested in setting his teammates up to succeed.”

THE FUTURE: Saunders will attend the United States Naval Academy.
