Mayville 47, Lomira 42

Lomira’s late comeback fell just short at Mayville. The Cardinals led by 12 after three quarters, but the Lions fought back to within three. Kate Bemis came off a screen and converted a layup to make it a two-possession game, and Mayville held on for the league win.

“I thought the fourth quarter, Lomira did an awesome job coming back,” said Mayville coach Aaron Lehner. “We were able to keep our composure and close the game out.”

Shannon Wagner led the balanced Mayville scoring with 12 points, and Libby Schellpfeffer had seven rebounds. Lehner said Chelsey Turk did a good job handling Lomira’s pressure at the end of the game.

Michaela Luedtke scored 14 points to pace the Lions.
