Millbrook Beats Page 62-56 In 4-A Women's Final

CHAPEL HILL, N.C.- Briana Day had 16 points and nine rebounds to help Raleigh Millbrook beat Greensboro Page 62-56 on Saturday in the Class 4-A North Carolina High School Athletic Association women’s championship.

Mykia Jones added 15 points for the Wildcats (33-0), who completed a perfect season with a second straight state title. Millbrook was in a state final for the third straight year.

Millbrook survived a 31-point performance by Page’s Paris Kea, who hit four 3-pointers and had five assists. Chelsey Coleman added 10 points and 13 rebounds for the Pirates (28-2), who were in a final for the first time since 1982.

Millbrook led all day and by as many as 11 points in the third quarter. Kea’s layup helped Page get within four early in the fourth, but Day and Courtney Best answered with scores to turn away the Pirates.

Page got no closer than six again.
