Athletic achievement: He batted .389 with 11 home runs, 32 RBI, 43 runs scored, 11 stolen bases and an .874 slugging percentage, leading the Cougars (28-7) to the Class 6A quarterfinals this past season. A 2013 Clarion-Ledger Dandy Dozen selection, Humphreys is the top-ranked player in the state as rated by Perfect Game USA.
Academic excellence: Humphreys has maintained a 3.35 GPA.

Exemplary character: A devoted member of his church community, he has volunteered locally as a youth baseball coach.


“Reid Humphreys is an outstanding player,” said Northwest Rankin head coach Jeff McClaskey. “He’s a big, strong kid and really a special talent on the field. He has worked extremely hard for all that he has accomplished.”

THE FUTURE: Humphreys has signed with Mississippi State.
