BAY CONFERENCE

New London 41, Oconto Falls 39

At New London, Brenna Heise made a 12-foot shot with less than 30 seconds to play and the Bulldogs then barely survived a missed half-court shot at the buzzer to remain unbeaten.

“We did a good job of stepping up when we needed to make a play,” said New London coach Andrea Flease. “We missed some key free throws down the stretch but our defense pulled through and got the stop we needed to win.

“It’s good to have these games to show we’re not on top of the world and have to play basketball every possession.”

McKenna Larsen’s halfcourt shot at the buzzer hit the back of the rim and bounced away. Larsen finished with 13 points for Oconto Falls.

Heise led the Bulldogs (12-0), the top-ranked team in the state in Division 2, with 16 points.
