Newark’s Dan Pastorius pinned three of his four opponents at 182 pounds on Saturday, winning his second championship of the season at the Barnesville Invitational.
He pinned Bradley Zerkle, of Shenandoah, in 18 seconds and Jaret Wright, of Pymatuning Valley, in 2:11 before beating third-seeded Brandon Reusser, of River, 18-7 to reach the finals. In the finals, Pastorius pinned defending tournament champion Mitchell Meeks, of Newcomerstown, in 4:13.
Wade Stischok placed third at 152 for the Wildcats, pinning Chris O’Cain, of Morgan, in 3:18 and Austin McConnville, of Bellaire, in 3:13 to reach the semifinals. In the semis, he lost 8-5 to eventual champion Keali Cummings, of Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy. Stischok then beat Mike Paynter, of Union Local, 12-5 and Tarrin Rauch, of Claymont, 9-3 in the consolation bracket to finish third.
