Some new swimmers greeted Elgin High School coach Shelly Posey this season.

The Comet boys team includes newcomers Kevin Conroy and Colton Wheeler.

They will join letter-winning seniors Kain Anderson and Haydn Boles on the boys squad.

Elgin’s girls team is made up of four girls who are new to the team. They are Lindsay Elkins, Ariel Fisher, Sierra Collins and Cassidy Ralph.

“We have female swimmers for the first time in several years at Elgin,” said Posey, a veteran coach who is in her second year with the Elgin program.

“But they are all first-year swimmers,” she added. “They will have to practice at every practice like they are swimming in a meet. I want the girls to set goals and to keep breaking previous personal-best times and finishes.”

Posey believes her letter winners will lead her boys team.

“Our strong point is we have returning lettermen and times from last year, which I am hoping they will better,” Posey said. “Our two new boys will need to set new goals.

“Our goals are to better our times and cover more events. They will have to practice hard and swim well at meets.”

The members of the Elgin boys bowling team are Matt Reebel, James Snyder, Casper Clink, Jordan Clink, Kyle Hall, Jordan Johnson, Raistlin Graber, Justin Snyder, Ryan Bakies, and Kyle Moore.

Bowling for the Elgin girls squad are Alyssa Shader, Brianna Caldwell, Alexis Boyd, Dezaray Hay, Keleigh Hughes, Valerie Delgado, Brianna Carmichael, Brittany Caldwell, Courtney Bruns, and Sevannah Krawczyk.

No further information was available on the Comets bowling teams.
