Nike Football honors Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson, Jr. with a special edition of the CJ81 Trainer featuring a Transformers-inspired design. The shoe is complemented with a 5-inch purple and red Transformers Megatron figurine made in collaboration with toy company Hasbro.

Bearing Johnson’s famed nickname, “Megatron”, the signature shoe received a purple makeover all over the upper, which gives it a robot-like appearance and is accented with red along the collar and tongue.

“Show no mercy” – Johnson’s favorite Megatron quote – appears under the forefoot strap, while the heel details a classic Transformers grid pattern, the center of which is adorned with a Decepticon logo.

Made for training in the gym or on the turf, the shoe is built to support the foot with Max Air cushioning for impact protection and adaptive traction and lockdown support to help keep the foot in place during multi-directional movements.

The complementing figurine reflects design details found in the CJ81 Megatron Trainer Max shoe. Notably, the red cruciform pattern on the shoe’s upper and toe, which is expressed on the figurine’s feet and arms; and Johnson’s signature appears on Megatron’s chest.
