No. 7 Delphi halts Rensselaer, claims second place in Hoosier Conference

DELPHI – Kolby Myer had two hits and Ostin Clark slugged an RBI double Friday night to lead Class 2A No. 7 Delphi to a 5-1 Hoosier Conference baseball victory over Rensselaer.

Codey Sattler (3-2) pitched five innings for the victory and aided his cause with a hit and an RBI for the Oracles (19-5).

McCutcheon 1

FISHERS – Braden Giroux had two hits for the Mavericks, whose lone run came home on a first-inning error.

Hamiton Southeastern pitcher Nathan Upchurch allowed five hits and struck out six over 513 innings.

N. Montgomery 10

Clinton Prairie 0

LINDEN – Mitch Rice and Jalen West drove in three runs apiece to lead the Chargers (15-7).

West went 3-for-3, while Devon Zachary and Bryce Woodall added two hits apiece. Jordan Lewis allowed five hits and struck out four to earn the victory.

Softball

Carmel 14

Lafayette Jeff 6

Maegan Rusk went 2-for-4 for the Bronchos (11-15).

Erynn Petruzzi drove in four runs, and Riley Tejcek went 3-for-5 with three RBIs for Carmel (12-12).

West Lafayette 14

Crawfordsville 11

Sophie Shinn had three hits, and the Red Devils scored nine times in the first inning.

Devin Hainje added two hits for West Lafayette.

Clinton Central 9

MICHIGANTOWN – Caitlyn Bradley’s 10th home run of the season, a three-run shot in the sixth inning, helped Clinton Central (16-5) finish the regular season by tying the school record for the most wins and fewest losses in a season.

Rachel Stowers pitched five scoreless innings, giving up three hits and striking out three before giving way to Bradley, who also struck out three. Bradley and Stowers each collected two hits.
