No-hitter powers Faith Christian's baseball romp

Will Gephart pitched a five-inning no-hitter and struck out 10 to lead Faith Christian to a 16-0 baseball victory over Indianapolis Marshall on Monday.

Gephart had plenty of offensive support from the Eagles, who collected 16 hits. Derrick Grass was 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Brennan Argo, Dominick Emerson, Wes Smeltzer, Hunter Taylor, Logan Heusinger and Lucas Deitrick each had two hits and scored two runs.

Baseball

Lafayette Jeff 1

An RBI double by Steven Curry and Mitch Roman’s two-run triple in the third inning were enough for the Royals.

Daniel Nelson went 2-for-3, including an RBI single in the sixth inning for Lafayete Jeff. Peter Ripke allowed seven hits and struck out six.

Noblesville 9

McCutcheon 8

Braden Giroux had two hits, including a triple, and drove in four runs for the Mavericks.

TJ Harmon went 2-for-2 and helped McCutcheon almost overcome a 9-4 deficit.

West Lafayette 16

Rensselaer 4

RENSSELAER – Everett Gorup homered twice and Spencer Ronchetto hit a three-run shot in the first inning for the Red Devils.

Gorup went 3-for-4 with five RBIs for West Lafayette. Paul Siciliano and Ronchetto each had two hits.

Ryan Lattimore led off the bottom of the first with a home run for Rensselaer.

Fishers 10

Harrison 6

FISHERS – Kyle Mitchell and Jake Lasky each singled to start a big sixth inning for the Raiders that gave them a 6-5 lead.

Harrison (0-15) saw a potential first win slip away when Conner Christiansen’s triple highlighted a four-run sixth by the Tigers (9-9).

Seeger 13

Covington 3 (5)

WEST LEBANON – Avery Acton pitched a one-hitter and the Patriots had five extra-base hits among their 12 total.

Jake Fell homered for Seeger (10-3).

Tri-County 13

Twin Lakes 1

MONTICELLO – Paul Budde, Blake Justice and Shae Lear each had three hits for the Cavaliers.

Lear also drove in three runs in support of winning pitcher Riley Benner, who struck out eight over four innings for the Cavaliers.

OXFORD – Leadoff man Brent Hawn went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs while launching a seven-run first inning for the Oracles.

Cody Miller also drove in three runs, and Ostin Clark had two RBIs.

Corbin Weise and Henry Fisher had two hits apiece for BC.

North White 12

Winamac 0

WINAMAC – D.J. Buschman went 4-for-5 with two doubles and four RBIs.

Luke Diener tripled and doubled twice while driving in three runs for the Vikings (11-1).

Hunter Bridge went 2-for-3, while Maggie Shandrick and Ashley Bowerman drove in the runs for Harrison (7-7).

ROSSVILLE – Summer Sutton struck out nine and was a home run away from the cycle while driving in three runs.

Emma Carpenter went 2-for-3 with three RBIs for Delphi (8-7).

Attica 5

North White 0

ATTICA – Maci Kyger and Karrah Pattengale each went 3-for-4 for the Red Ramblers (4-9).

SHERIDAN – Madison Douglass homered and went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs scored for the Gophers (5-5).

Lewis Cass 9

OXFORD – Courtney Best doubled home the Bison’s lone run in the sixth inning.

Covington 9

Seeger 3

WEST LEBANON – Madison Hanson had two hits and five RBIs, while Aliah Larsen went 3-for-4 with three RBIs for Covington (6-7).

McKenna Mitchell hit a two-run double for Seeger (4-11).

Frontier 25

FULTON – Brynleigh Jensen drove in five runs and Madison Doyle homered for Frontier, which had 25 hits.

DOVER – Dani Perry went 3-for-4 with two RBIs for Southmont (8-5).

Westville 13

FRANCESVILLE – Kenzie Pfledderer and Hannah Czarnecki had two hits apiece for West Central (3-9).
