Northeast high school in Macon is off to a perfect start in class AA.
They hope to continue that streak into region play.
Northeast knocked off its first three opponents with good defense. The raiders have only given up 25 points this year.
Head coach Bruce Mullen is in his tenth season with the Raiders. He says 3-0 is a nice start, but the stakes get higher this week. The team opens up region play on the road against Monticello on Friday.
“Those three games are behind us now and we’re getting ready to start our region play,” said Mullen. “We did well in the region last year and a lot of teams are going to be gunning for us. They’re going to be trying to knock us off.”
The raiders finished with a 5-2 record in region four last season. They’ll play at Monticello this Friday night, September 27.
