SACRAMENTO, CA – Once again, the Berkeley Yellowjackets will represent the Northern California Girls Division I in the state championship, defeating the Oak Ridge Trojans 56-45 on Saturday inside Sleep Train Arena.

The Trojans’ season comes to an end, finishing with an overall record of 28-5.

Rachel Howard led the way for Berkeley with 23 points and nine rebounds en route to their 12th Nor Cal championship.

It was a rocky road to the state title game for Berkeley (22-11) this season, as they fell in the North Coast Section playoffs and entered the Nor-Cal regional playoffs as the 12th seed.

As for Berkeley, they will advance to the state title game where they will face Southern California champion Long Beach Poly at Sleep Train Arena next Friday, Mar. 22 at 6:00 p.m.
