The Oaks led by four entering the fourth quarter, where they outscored the Hilltoppers 23-12 to pull away for a season-opening win at home.

Oakfield’s defense kept Montello in check, while four players had at least nine points for the Oaks. Justin Holz led the way with 19, while Taylor Schaefer had 14, Tyler Burbach had 10 and Tyler Holz added nine.

“If we can do that every game and hold teams to 42 points, we’ll be very happy,” Oakfield coach Kyle Seyfert said. “We always need that third and fourth scorer.We did some nice things. Justin and Taylor really led us.”
