LANCASTER, N.Y.-It was smash mouth football Friday night at Lancaster as Orchard Park scored a late touchdown to beat the Redskins 14-7.
The game was scoreless until just 14 seconds remained in the first half. That’s when Orchard Park’s David Hollins connected with Ryann Falsone for a 25 yard touchdown.
Orchard Park led 7-nothing at halftime and the game remained that way until Lancaster tied in the fourth quarter.
With 6:59 remaining in the fourth quarter Redskins quarterback Kevin Colafranceschi hit Dan Corbi for a 15 yard touchdown to tie the game at 7. Corbi was drilled by Quakers linebacker Matthew Perla but somehow managed to bounce off of him, keep possession of the football and score.
Orchard Park pulled the game out with a late touchdown drive. They key play was a long pass from David Hollins to Christopher Murphy that moved the Quakers deep into Lancaster territory. Desean Walker barreled his way into the end zone from nine yards out for the winning touchdown with 3:39 left in the fourth quarter.
Walker rushed for 44 yards on 19 carries. Orchard Park had three interceptions on the night.
Orchard Park improves to 4-1 on the season. After a 3-0 start to the season the Redskins have dropped two straight. Orchard Park plays Niagara Falls next week.
