Orleans held Crothersville to single digits in every quarter in cruising to a 54-16 girls’ basketball victory in the Class A Springs Valley Sectional.

Shelbi Samsil made six 3-pointers on her way to a game-high 20 points for the Bulldogs (14-7), while Shelby Noble added 10 rebounds and 11 points. Abby Jewell led the Tigers (2-19) with eight points.

Orleans will face West Washington in Friday’s first semifinal at 6 p.m.

* New Washington 56, Borden 43: The Mustangs (18-2) trotted past the Braves (13-6) in the first round of the New Washington Sectional. Kriston Sarver and Caroline Ricks each had 17 points for the winners.

Carson Casey led the Braves (13-6) with 13 points, and Leslie Beatty chipped in 12.
