Summer Zachow struck out six and allowed just four hits as the Kimberly softball team beat Kaukauna 8-1 in a Fox Valley Association game Monday in Kimberly.

Megan Kleist had three hits, including a double, for Kimberly (6-2, 5-2). Payton Mix added three RBI.

At Appleton, the Patriots improved to 9-1 overall and 8-1 in the FVA with the sweep of the Bluejays.

Maddie Durie got the win in the first game, combining with Lauren Blasczyk to tally 10 strikeouts. Molly Krause had a home run and five RBI for East, with Tori Sweeney adding a double, a home run and three RBI.

Blasczyk got the win in the second game and also had a home run and three RBI. Mallory Lamers added a home run and three RBI for East.
