Little went right for eighth-seeded Pingry on Friday night, after making the 224-mile round trip to Absecon only to get shut out 48-0 by Holy Spirit in the NJSIAA Non-Public Group II football playoff first-round game.

The Big Blue trailed 34-0 at halftime to top-seeded Holy Spirit (9-0), a three-time defending state champion, as Pingry finishes the season 4-6 overall.

Phillipsburg 40, Scotch Plains-Fanwood 20: Despite a 2-7 regular season record, eighth-seeded Scotch-Plains Fanwood (2-8) qualified for the North 2 Group IV playoffs and kept up with top-seeded Phillipsburg (8-1) in the second half after trailing 20-0 after two quarters.

Emendo Thomas scored on a two yard run late in the third quarter to get the Raiders on the board.

Thomas hit Jordan Jones on a 15 yard touchdown pass in the fourth quarter and Kobe White added a late score on a 14 yard run to cap off the Raider scoring.

Weequahic 45, Delaware Valley 0: The seventh-seeded Terriers were shut out by second-seeded Weequahic (9-0), dropping to 4-5 on the season.

Delaware Valley will carry a three-game losing skid into its final game on Thanksgiving weekend against Bernards.
