Joe Pipher’s single to left with one out in the bottom of the 10th inning scored Brian Cottrell with the winning run and gave No. 7 seed Brick Memorial a 4-3 win over No. 10 seed Central on Friday in an Ocean County Tournament round of 16 game.

Brick Memorial (8-7) scored two runs in the 10th after Central (7-6) had taken the lead in the top of the inning. Matt Hall’s single to left scored Matt Cuppari with the tying run.

Ken Beyrouty’s RBI single to center in the top of the 10th had given Central the lead in a game in which two of the Shore’s best pitchers were outstanding

Cottrell, a senior right-hander, pitched 9 2/3 innings. He struck out seven, walked four and allowed seven hits.

Central junior right-hander Andrew DiPiazza pitched eight innings of two-hit ball. He struck out 11, walked four and both of the runs he allowed were unearned.

TR SOUTH 8, POINT BEACH 4: Senior right-hander Eric Fricks struck out eight, walked one and pitched a complete-game five-hitter to improve to 5-1 as the No. 5 seed Indians (11-5) defeated the No. 12 seed Garnet Gulls (9-4) in an OCT round of 16 game.

DONOVAN 9, POINT BORO 4: Nick Panissidi’s three-run triple highlighted a four-run fifth inning and he went 3-for-4 with five RBI and scored two runs as the No. 6 seed Griffins (13-4) defeated the No. 11 seed Panthers (8-7) in an OCT round of 16 game.

LACEY 8, LAKEWOOD 1: Donovan Waller struck out 11, pitched a complete-game four-hitter and went 2-for-2 with three RBI and Austin Peck was 3-for-3 with three RBI as the No. 17 seed Lions (2-13) defeated the No. 16 seed Piners (2-11) in an OCT preliminary-round game.

WALL 5, MATAWAN 3: Luke Malone scattered eight hits and pitched a complete-game and Nick Martinez went 2-for-4 with RBI singles in the third and fourth innings as the Crimson Knights (13-2, clinched the Class B North championship with the win over the Huskies (11-4, 8-3).

HOLMDEL 11, SJ VIANNEY 9: Joe Sadler belted his co-Shore Conference-leading fifth home run of the season and went 2-for-3 with three RBI as the Hornets (7-10, 7-6) defeated the Lancers (10-4, 8-4) in a Class A Central game.

RB CATHOLIC 6, MANASQUAN 5: Mike Rescigno’s two-run homer capped a three-run sixth inning as the Caseys (14-1, 13-0) rallied for the win over Warriors (3-11, 3-9) in a Class A Central game.

HOWELL 2, MIDD. NORTH 1: Joe Purcaro pitched a pitched a complete-game four-hitter and the Rebels (9-5, 9-4) scored both of their runs in the first inning as they defeated the Lions (5-10, 4-9) in a Class A North game.

FREEHOLD 5, LONG BRANCH 4: Jason Lundy’s single with two out in the bottom of the sixth scored pinch-runner Ryan Yee with the tie-breaking run as the Colonials (9-6, 6-6) defeated the Green Wave (4-10, 2-8) in a Class B North game.

OCEAN 3, RED BANK 2: Jimmy McGrorry’s two-run homer in the top of the fifth broke a 1-1 tie as the Spartans (9-6, 7-4) defeated the Bucs (4-11, 3-8) in a Class B North game.

MONMOUTH 3, RUMSON-FH 2: Mike Casper’s RBI single in the bottom of the sixth gave the Falcons (8-6, 7-6) a 3-0 lead as they hung on for the win over the Bulldogs (5-10, 5-8) in a Class A Central game.
