PORTLAND, Maine(NEWS CENTER) — Deering’s run of dominance in the annual Turkey day game came to a screeching halt Thursday at Fitzpatrick Stadium.
The Portland Bulldogs defeated the Rams 47-6 on a bright but chilly day. The Bulldogs were powered by four touchdown runs by Justin Zukowski as they jumped out early against Deering and never looked back. Ron Hargrove also scored on a 63 yard double reverse, and Jayvon Pitts-Young added a three yard TD plunge.
Deering’s lone score came on a 57 yard pass from Max Chabot to Dom Bernard just before halftime. The win breaks a streak of Ram dominance that included three wins in a row and ten of the last eleven. The Bulldogs also defeated Deering in the regular season. Portland finishes the year at 9-2. Deering wrapped up a forgettable season at 1-8.
