Koby Hyde will have to watch his team play without him this season.

“I’m always there for them no matter what,” said Hyde.”Whatever they need, I’m there for them.”

Cheering his Powell High School teammates on is something Koby’s happy to do after all he’s endured, thanks to one faithful night.

“It was March the 2nd, we hydroplaned,” said Hyde. “It was like black ice kind of. We hydroplaned and flipped like five times. My friend he walked away fine. I guess all the rattling, I had like brain lesions. I was in a coma for 7 days.”

While Koby was in the hospital the community of Powell held a prayer vigil. His teammates marvel just how far he’s come.

“It’s just inspiring you know,” said linebacker Josh Singleton. “Just because of where he was. You think, he may never be able to walk again and it really hit the community hard. To see where he is now walking around God has blessed him with his health. It’s inspiring to know play every play like its your last because anything can happen in a split second.”
