A number of high school athletes signed college scholarships this week.

Maclay right-handed pitcher Sam Manley signed with LaGrange College on Friday.

Manley, a two-year starter, led the team in strikeouts and also pitched a perfect game against district rival Rocky Bayou last season.

Manley, who also plays for the American Legion Post 13, was an All-Big Bend honorable mention selection and named Perfect Game/Rawlings All-Florida honorable mention.

LaGrange College is a member of the NCAA Division III and competes in the USA South Athletic Conference.

Florida High catcher Tyler Deering and pitcher Tyler Kreps each signed with Thomas University on Thursday.

Deering hit .348 for the Seminoles this season with 24 runs scored and 20 RBIs. Kreps went 8-2 with 54 strikeouts in 54 innings pitched.

Florida High’s Dakota Atkinson signed a soccer scholarship to Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville on Thursday.

Atkinson was a first-team All-Big Bend selection and also was named to the Florida Athletic Coaches Association Class 2A All-State team.

Atkinson also played baseball for the Seminoles, batting .307 this season.
