Jared Patek pitched seven near-flawless innings and drove in the only two runs the Roncalli baseball team would need as the Jets topped host Valders 2-1 on Monday.

Patek earned the win by allowing one earned run on eight hits and four strikeouts with no walks while he was 1-for-3 at the plate with his two RBI coming in the first inning. Also for the Jets, John Roberts was 1-for-3 with a double.

Valders’ run came in the third inning with Thomas Schwoerer going 3-for-3 for the Vikings while teammate Luke Schuh was 2-for-3.

Schuh took the complete-game loss, allowing two earned runs on four hits and four walks with four strikeouts.
