Kiel allowed host Howards Grove to score two runs in the first inning and one each in the second and third and couldn’t recover in a 5-2 loss on Saturday afternoon.
The Raiders scored a run each in the third and seventh innings as Nick Walsh took the loss. He allowed four unearned runs on three hits, two walks and four hit batters with four strikeouts in 31⁄3 innings while Nathan Pieper allowed one earned run on three hits and one walk with two strikeouts in 22⁄3 innings of relief.
Pieper was 2-for-4 with an RBI while Terren Driscoll also had an RBI. Leadoff hitter Eric Weber had two runs for the Raiders while Jordan Meyer, Nathan Voitek and Tanner Woepse were each 1-for-3.
