Prep baseball: Reedsville holds off Kewaunee

The No. 5 seeded Reedsville baseball team scored a pair of runs in each the first two innings and held on to defeat host No. 4 Kewaunee in the WIAA Division 3 baseball regional opener on Friday.

Brett Dvorachek led the Panthers offense by going 1-for-4 with two RBI while teammate Cody Schamburek (1-for-4) added an RBI of his own.

Schamburek started the game for Reedsville to earn the win, pitching five innings allowing two runs — both earned — on two hits with three strikeouts and three walks. Austin Stelzer pitched the final two innings for the Panthers for the save, not allowing a hit while striking out three.

Reedsville will travel to take on No. 1 Gibraltar on Tuesday.

Mishicot 8, Algoma 7

The No. 6 seeded Indians prevailed over No. 3 Algoma.

Mishicot will take on No. 2 Manitowoc Lutheran Tuesday.

Division 2 Southern Door 8, Roncalli 3

The No. 5 Jets led 3-1 after the top of the third before No. 4 Southern Door responded by scoring five in the bottom of the frame to take the lead for good.

Jonathon Roberts took the loss for Roncalli, allowing six runs on six hits in 223 innings of work.

Tyler Heyduk paced the Jets offense going 2-for-3 with two runs scored while teammate Brett Bahrs (1-for-2) drove in and scored a run each.

Bahrs would also pitch the final 313 innings for Roncalli, allowing two runs — both earned — on three hits while striking out six compared to one walk.

Denmark 7, Valders 4

The No. 6 Vikings fell on the road to No. 3 Denmark.
