MELROSE – Albany senior Josh Olmscheid earned the win and scored two runs as the Huskies muzzled Melrose 12-3 in nonconference action Friday.

Olmscheid pitched five innings and allowed three earned runs. He also went 2-for-4. Senior Cody Stich went 2-for-3 and also had two runs scored.

Melrose senior Trevor Sawyer hit a solo home run for the Dutchmen (5-5). Junior Dallas Rieland finished 1-for-3 with two RBI.

FOLEY 12, HOLDINGFORD 6

HOLDINGFORD – Juniors Tyler Midas and Mitch Keeler combined for four RBI as Foley flummoxed Holdingford at home.

Midas and Keeler each finished 2-for-3. Foley sophomore Cameron Jurek pitched 413 innings to earn the win.

Jurek struck out three batters and allowed seven hits and five earned runs.

Holdingford (6-6 CMC, 6-7) was led by senior Taylor Milbrand, who finished 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.

Senior Cody Schwinghammer went 1-for-3 with a triple and an RBI for the Huskers.

Shakopee 4, Rocori 0

SHAKOPEE – Luke Bruss threw a complete-game two-hit shutout as Shakopee blanked Rocori.

Derek Schlangen went six innings, holding Shakopee to three hits, but the Spartans allowed two unearned runs.

Marshal Witzfeld doubled for Rocori.

BBE 9, ACGC 4

ELROSA – Austin Jaeger and Alex Wosmek each went 2-for-3 with an RBI in Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa’s win over Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City.

Matt Schmitz had an RBI triple and Jordan Wosmek threw three innings of relief to get the win for the Jaguars (6-10).

David Kinzler led ACGC with three hits, two doubles and two RBI.

BIG LAKE 11, SARTELL 1

BIG LAKE – Big Lake stifled Sartell in a nonconference game.

ST. JOHN’S PREP 4, UPSALA 3

UPSALA – The Johnnies’ Grant Franke delivered the game-winning hit with an RBI single in the sixth inning.

Franke also laid down two sacrifice bunts that led to runs for St. John’s Prep (6-1 Prairie Conference, 9-5 overall).

Alex Kendall picked up the win. He went all seven innings and gave up six hits while striking out 11.

Zack Dehler went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Johnnies and R.J. Alpers went 1-for-4 with two RBI.

Brock Cichon went 2-for-3 with two RBI for Upsala. Tyler Evans took the loss.
