MORA – The Little Falls baseball team swept a Granite City Conference doubleheader over Mora with identical scores of 8-7, but took two extreme ways to do it.

In Game 1, Little Falls led 8-0 after the fourth inning, but gave up seven runs in the sixth inning to make things interesting. Josh Wenzel was 2-for-4, Gabe Ploof was 2-for-5 with a double, Spencer Fenske was 2-for-4, Alec Zack was 2-for-4 and Bryce Zawatzke was 2-for-4 for the Flyers (7-1 Granite Ridge, 7-2 overall).

In Game 2, Mora led 7-0 going into the bottom of the fourth, but the Flyers scored four in the bottom of the seventh to pick up the win. Collin Eckman had a one-out, bases-loaded walk to knock in the winning run for the Flyers.

Wenzel was 2-for-4 with a double and Nate Backowski was 2-for-4 for Little Falls. Zack and Wenzel both had RBI singles in the seventh for Little Falls.

CATHEDRAL 8, ALBANY 7

The Crusaders held off Albany 8-7 in the Granite Ridge Conference game at Dick Putz Field.

Senior Brian Minks was 3-for-4 with a double and two RBI and senior Andy Lenzmeier was 3-for-4 with an RBI for Cathedral. Junior Jeff Fasching was 2-for-3 with an RBI and junior Thomas Imholte was 2-for-3 for the Crusaders (12-2 overall).

Senior Scott Litchy was 3-for-4 and senior Cody Stich was 2-for-4 for the Huskies.

SAUK RAPIDS 13, APOLLO 12

SAUK RAPIDS – Junior Nick Kuechle knocked in the game-winning run with a two-out single in the bottom of the seventh for the Storm (5-4 CLC, 6-4 overall).

Kuechle was 3-for-5 and scored two runs.

Senior Joel Haller hit for the cycle, going 4-for-5 with seven RBI for Sauk Rapids. Haller homered in the third.

Junior Matt Meyer hit a two-run homer in the second inning and junior Tyler Bjork was 2-for-4 for the Storm.

MOORHEAD 5,
SARTELL 4 (8 INN.)

SARTELL – Moorhead scored one run in the top of the eighth and held on for the win at Champion Field.

Sartell (3-9) tied the game at 4 with a run in the bottom of the fourth.

Center fielder Sam Neeser, first baseman Dylan Hollenkamp and third baseman/pitcher Parker Hagen had two hits apiece for the Sabres.

ST. CLOUD TECH 12,
GRAND RAPIDS 2 (6 INN.)

Jake Samuelson was 2-for-3 with a homer and five RBI, Chase Aleshire was 2-for-4 with a double, Joe Setrum was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI and Austin Klaverkamp was 3-for-3 to lead the Tigers at the MAC.

Andrew Eisenreich gave up four hits and two earned runs to get the complete-game win. He struck out eight and walked three.

CATHEDRAL 4,
MINNEHAHA ACADEMY 1

In the nonconference game, Minnehaha Academy scored three runs in the seventh to beat the Crusaders in a nonconference game at Dick Putz Field.

Senior John Pryor hit a two-out, two-run homer in the seventh to give the Redhawks the lead. Pryor also struck out seven in five innings pitched.

Senior Drew Peschel had an RBI single in the sixth, junior Steven Neutzling was 2-for-3 and senior Jalen Braegelmann was 2-for-2 for the Crusaders.

SAUK RAPIDS 9,
MOORHEAD 6

SAUK RAPIDS – Junior Mat Meyer was 3-for-3, senior Tyler Long was 2-for-4 and junior Nate Freihammer was 2-for-3 to lead the Storm to the nonconference win.

Senior Zach Silbernick gave up two runs over six innings with three strikeouts to get the win.
