Despite having only one hit in the game the Roncalli baseball team defeated host Wrightstown 2-1 on Tuesday.
The Jets scored a run in the top of the first inning and added another in the top of the fourth. Wrighstown answered with a run in the fourth but couldn’t complete the comeback attempt.
Roncalli’s Wesley Pautz went 1-for-3 with an RBI while teammate Jared Patek had an RBI and a walk. Brett Bahrs and Logan Koss, who batted No. 1 and No. 2 in the lineup for Roncalli, respectively, each had one run and one walk. Bahrs, Koss and Pautz also each had one stolen base.
Jonathan Roberts pitched a complete game for the win, allowing one earned run on six hits and no walks with eight strikeouts.
Chilton 13, Mishicot 0 (six innings)
Host Chilton scored one or two runs in every inning to hand Mishicot the loss.
The Indians made four errors while Derek Hlinak, Derek Cornils and Jeff Stueck were each 1-for-2 to account for Mishicot’s three hits.
Kyle Haskell took the loss after pitching 21/3 innings and allowing 10 runs — four earned — on five hits and four walks with a pair of strikeouts.
Stueck pitched 12/3 innings of relief and allowed an earned run on six hits with two strikeouts while Tanner Orth pitched the game’s final inning, allowing two earned runs on four hits and one walk.
