The Eastern Wisconsin Conference released its boys basketball all-conference selections on Monday, with Two Rivers’ Brett Linzmeier gathering unanimous first-team honors along with being named the EWC Player of the Year.
Linzmeier led the Raiders to the No. 4 seed in the WIAA Boys State Basketball Tournament in Division 3, defeating No. 5 Chilton 77-63 in the regional semifinal before falling to No. 1 Brillion in the regional final 52-48.
He also became the highest scorer in school history earlier this season while finishing second in the conference in points per game with 17.53 and first in assists at five a contest.
Also earning All-EWC honors for Two Rivers were junior Dexter Smith and senior Brett Kasper, who were named to the second team and honorable mention, respectively.
Kiel was also represented, with junior Jacob Winkel being named Second-Team All-EWC.
Plymouth senior Cory Unger and his coach Jason Duff concluded the awards, taking home defensive player and coach of the year, respectively.
