Tied 13-13 at the end of the first quarter, the Two Rivers boys basketball team outscored visiting Valders 25-9 in the second quarter en route to a 73-38 non-conference win on Tuesday night.

The win was the Raiders’ seventh in their past eight games and their fifth in a row

In the first quarter Valders (9-7) overcame three separate four-point deficits to knot the game up entering the second quarter, but the Two Rivers (10-5) man-to-man defense caused 10 turnovers which the Raiders capitalized off of to make it 38-22 at halftime.

Two Rivers (10-5) committed just two turnovers in the first half as Brett Linzmeier had 15 first-half points and finished with a game-high 17 points, seven rebounds, six assists and four steals. Linzmeier is now 23 points away from breaking the all-time scoring mark for the program.

Four other Raiders reached double figures in the game as Dexter Smith had 14 points and Ethan Willman added 12 points while Mac Shimulunas and Brett Kasper each had 11.

Smith hit a 3-pointer as time expired in the third quarter to give Two Rivers a 55-31 lead entering the final frame.
