Prep boys basketball: Two Rivers suffers road loss


After leading 14-9 at the end of the first quarter, the Two Rivers boys basketball team was outscored 49-28 the rest of the way in a 58-42 road non-conference loss to Oostburg on Saturday night.

Oostburg began the game on a 4-0 run, but the Raiders responded to take a 6-4 lead and led the rest of the first quarter.

Two Rivers allowed Oostburg to go on a 7-0 run to start the second quarter and a Flying Dutchmen field goal at the buzzer gave them a 28-23 lead over the Raiders at halftime.

Oostburg once again started a quarter on a run as it had a 10-0 run coming out of the break to lead Two Rivers 44-33 entering the fourth quarter.

Brett Linzmeier and Dexter Smith each had 13 points to lead Two Rivers. Smith had two of the Raiders’ three 3-pointers and Linzmeier had the other.

Two Rivers was 2-of-3 on free throws as Oostburg committed six fouls in the game and shot 12-of-17 from the free-throw line as the Raiders had 18 fouls.
