Prep boys swimming: Valders co-op defeats host Kiel

The Valders-Chilton-Brillion boys swimming team won 11 of 12 events against host Kiel on Thursday, en route to a 127-52 victory.

Michael Evans and Jared Kasten led the Valders co-op, winning two individual events each. Evans took first in the 50- and 100 meter freestyles with times of 22.92 and 52.63, respectively, while Kasten won 100 butterfly (1:05.00) and 100 breaststroke (1:10.52).

Also of note for Valders, James Wise set a new Kiel pool record for six dives with a final score of 282.80, breaking former Kiel diver Adam Stoelting’s record of 259.45 set in 1995.

Noah Draxler won Kiel’s lone event, coming in nearly four seconds ahead of the second-place finisher in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:03.64.
