Prep boys tennis roundup: Lincoln 2nd at FRCC Tourney


The Manitowoc Lincoln boys tennis team wrapped up the No. 2 spot on the second and final day of the Fox River Classic Conference Tennis Tournament on Thursday, earning 69 points to trail Green Bay Notre Dame’s 76.

David Wronkowski won his two matches on Day 2 by scores of 6-2, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-3 to earn fifth at No. 1 singles while Mike Olson fell in the third-place match at No. 2 singles 0-6, 6-3, 6-4 to finish fourth.

At No. 3 singles, Ethan Just fell in the championship match 7-6(2), 5-7, 6-1 to finish second and teammate while at No. 4 singles Jim Lee won two matches by scores of 3-6, 6-1, 6-0 and 3-6, 7-6(5), 7-6(6) to finish fifth.

Jake Rohrer-Nick Schroeder fell in the championship match at No. 1 doubles 6-0, 6-4 to finish second while teammates Jonah Mrozinsky-Parker Wood also fell in a championship match as they lost 6-2, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles. Both losses were to Notre Dame squads.

At No. 3 doubles, Derek Rohrer-Ryan Specht fell to a De Pere opponent 7-6(4), 6-4 to earn the Ships’ third and final second-place finish in doubles.

In the home win, Two Rivers’ only loss came at No. 1 singles.
