The Two Rivers boys tennis team defeated Kewaunee 7-0 and Green Bay East 5-2 before falling to Ashwaubenon 4-3 to finish second at Saturday’s Kewaunee Quad.

Ashwaubenon went on to take first place.

The Raiders’ doubles teams of Brian Ruedinger-Brice Ruedinger (No. 1), Brock Gospodarek-Cameron Greene (No. 2) and Brett Kasper-Brett Linzmeier (No. 3) each went 3-0 on the day.

In singles for Two Rivers, Brody Joyce (No. 4) and Ian Guyette (No. 3) each went 2-1.

Manitowoc Lincoln finished with 22 points to trail only Fond du Lac’s 23 as the Ships’ three doubles pairs went undefeated to earn first-place finishes.

At No. 1 singles, Jake Rohrer and Nick Schoeder earned wins by scores of 6-2, 7-5 and 4-6 7-5 (10-2) before winning the championship match 6-2, 6-3.

David Wronkowski and Mike Olson partnered up at No. 2 doubles and won the bracket with ease as they earned a 6-0, 6-1 win in the championship match after earning wins by scores of 6-0, 6-3 and 6-0, 6-1.

At No. 3 doubles, Parker Wood and Jonah Mrozinsky similarly had an easy time as they earned wins of 6-2, 6-2 and 6-3, 6-3 before winning a competitive title match 6-2, 3-6 (10-7).

The Ships’ high finish in singles came from Jake Rohrer in the No. 2 bracket as he finished fourth by winning his first match 6-4, 6-4 and falling in his final two matches by scores of 6-0, 6-0 and 4-6, 6-4 (20-18).
