Alex Deets ran for 140 yards on 18 carries to power the Roncalli football team past visiting Wrightstown on Friday 35-6.
As a team, the Jets piled up 285 yards on the ground and five touchdowns with Deets accounting for three of them. Roncalli quarterback Jared Patek starting the scoring with a 23-yard scamper before Deets added touchdowns of 27 and two yards to put the Jets up 22-6 after one quarter.
Deets would again score from two-yards out as Roncalli (5-0, 3-0 Olympian-Packerland Large) led 28-6 and halftime and shut out the Tigers in the second half. The only score after halftime came on a Miles Morrison six-yard run for the Jets.
The running game kept Roncalli in control all game but Patek was efficient through the air when needed, completing 3-of-4 for 58 yards as the Jets outgained Wrightstown 343-198 in total offense.
Roncalli travels to take on Valders next Friday.
