The Manitowoc Lutheran football team scored six points each in the first and fourth quarters but it wasn’t enough as the Lancers fell to visiting Cedar Grove-Belgium on Friday 38-12.

Lutheran was led on the ground by Will Kleinert and Seth Hilmer, who each scored a touchdown on 10 carries with Hilmer rushing for 37 yards and Kleinert 29. Kleinert got the Lancers on the board first with a two-yard plunge in the first quarter before Hilmer scored from 11-yards out in the fourth.

Through the air, Ethan Hilmer completed 6-of-12 passes for 73 yards and an interception.

The game started out with Lutheran trailing 12-6 after the first quarter, but would trail 38-6 before finding the endzone again.

The Lancers were undone by fumbling the ball seven times, losing five of them.

Lutheran travels to Howards Grove next week.
