Cole Neary, Carroll Kuemper

Neary is the state’s most accurate passer among those with at least 55 attempts this season. The 6-foot-6 senior has connected on 56 of his 80 throws (70 percent) for 862 yards with 11 touchdowns and one interception. Neary has completed 43-of-55 passing during the past three games.

Brock Larsen, Hoover

Larsen has completed 68 percent of his passes for 566 yards with nine touchdowns and one interception during the past two weeks as Hoover won twice and racked up 100 points in the process. He also ran 19 times for 159 yards and two more touchdowns.

North Polk (4-0) at West Marshall (4-0)

Both teams have taken different routes to 4-0 in Class 2-A. Ninth-ranked North Polk has outscored its four opponents by a combined total of 32 points. No. 2 West Marshall beat its first four foes by an average of 33 behind senior Duncan Ferch, the second-leading rusher in Class 2-A.

Exira-EHK (4-0) at Glidden-Ralston (4-0)

Exira-EHK has used 11 turnovers to remain on top of the eight-player rankings. Jake Bruggeman’s 544 yards from scrimmage and nine touchdowns have kept Glidden-Ralston unbeaten. Exira-EHK won both meetings between the two schools last year, including a 39-36 victory in the state quarterfinals.

* There are 55 unbeaten teams in the state and three divisions with three unbeatens – District 3 in 3-A, District 3 in 2-A and District 7 in eight-player.

* Twin Cedars of Bussey quarterback Brent Parker leads the state with 29 touchdown passes. He’s averaging one TD toss every 3.58 attempts.

* Waukon’s dominance has kept Marcus Weymiller from racking up the carries, but he’s turning his opportunities into touchdowns. His 23 carries this season have produced 367 yards and nine scores.

* Madrid’s 551 yards rushing last week against Martensdale-St. Marys were the most for the Tigers since they ran for 575 against Earlham in 2011.
