The Roncalli football team racked up 321 yards on the ground, paced by Joey Macdonald’s 10 carries for 102 yards and one touchdown, en route to a 35-0 win over host Sturgeon Bay on Friday.
The Jets scored four touchdowns, all on the ground, in the first quarter starting with four-yard plunge by Macdonald. Teammates Nick Stelzer and Alex Deets would alternate for the next three, with Stelzer scoring from five and 15 yards sandwiched around a 31-yard jaunt by Deets.
Deets would cap the scoring for the game, running it in from four yards. Stelzer and Deets each carried the ball six times, for 69 and 59 yards, respectively.
Roncalli quarterback Jared Patek wasn’t asked to do much, but was efficient, completing all four passes he attempted for 71 yards including a 37 yard strike to Austin Schneider.
The Roncalli defense, meanwhile, did the rest, holding the Clippers to 135 yards of total offense compared to 392 for the Jets.
