Roncalli opened up the 2013 campaign with a decisive 42-0 win over Mishicot Friday night.

The Jets racked up 353 yards of total offense, 290 of which came on the ground.

Jared Patek got the scoring started when he hooked up with Austin Schneider on a 29-yard touchdown pass.

Later in the first, Joey McDonald found the end zone from a yard out to make it 14-0 Roncalli.

JP Ruether capped off the scoring for the Jets in the first quarter when he intercepted Mishicot’s Quenten Haack and brought it back for a score.

With a three-touchdown lead in the second quarter, Roncalli kept its foot on the gas , scoring three more times before the half.

Patek found the paint from 52-yards out early in the quarter.

Later, Brett Bahrs connected with Josh Erickson for a 14-yard touchdown pass, before Bahrs rounded off the frame with a 1-yard touchdown run of his own.

Patek finished the contest 3-for-4 passing for 49 yards with one touchdown and an interception. His counterpart, Haack finished 2-of-9 for 47 yards and an interception.

McDonald led the rushing attack for Roncalli with 74 yards on 10 attempts with a touchdown. Mishicot’s Tim Kue had 35 yards on seven carries.

Schneider had three receptions for 49 yards and a touchdown for the Jets while the Indians’ Jake Murphy had two catches for 47 yards.

Random Lake 25, Valders 20

The host Vikings led 20-0 at halftime, but succumbed to a furious comeback by the Rams, who scored 25 unanswered to hand Valders the loss.

Paxton Korslin scored on an eight-yard run while teammate Trenton Sundsmo carried it in from 30 to put the Vikings up 13-0 after the first quarter. Sundsmo led the hosts in rushing with 45 yards on seven carries and the score.

Korslin would later connect with receiver Braden Persinger for a 66-yard touchdown strike as Valders built what appeared to be a comfortable lead entering the half. Korslin finished the game with 89 yards passing, completing 4-of-8 and a touchdown and interception each, while Persinger had two catches for 81 yards.

Valders garnered over a 100 more yards of total offense than Random Lake, 252-141 but the second half belonged to the Rams. The Vikings led 20-7 entering the fourth before Random Lake scored on a 44-yard fumble recovery and runs of one- and 17-yards to seal the game.

A matchup with visiting Reedsville awaits next week.
