WILMINGTON – Junior wide receiver Quadree Henderson scored five touchdowns – four through the air and one on the ground – to lead A.I. du Pont to a 49-20 victory over St. Elizabeth in nonconference action on Friday night at Baynard Stadium.
Henderson scored on a 74-yard run to put the Tigers ahead to stay at 7-6 in the first quarter, then caught touchdown passes of 12, 88, 11 and 50 yards from quarterback Freddie Heard. Henderson made six catches on the night for 190 yards.
Heard went 7 for 12 for 205 yards and also scored a touchdown on an 8-yard run. Aaron Limberry also scored for A.I. on a 58-yard run. St. Elizabeth quarterback Brendan McCloskey threw touchdown passes of 27 yards to Joseph Schiavoni and 18 yards to Joey Carrow.
Indian River 19, Milford 7DAGSBORO – Quarterback Spencer Murray passed for 101 yards and rushed for 70 more to lead Indian River to victory over Milford.
Murray went 8 for 15 and tossed a 12-yard touchdown pass to Jake Troublefield. Murray also ran for an 8-yard touchdown. KiAnte Surgis rushed for 105 yards for Indian River. Harry Wilgus scored Indian River’s first TD on a 5-yard run in the second quarter.
Vance Daniels scored Milford’s lone touchdown on a 60-yard run in the fourth quarter.
Middletown 47, Glasgow 6GLASGOW – Quarterback Darius Wade threw four touchdowns and ran for another as Middletown cruised to a victory over Glasgow in Blue Hen Flight A play.
Wade got the Cavalier scoring started with a 21-yard run in the first quarter, then fired touchdown strikes of 42 and 41 yards to Chris Godwin and 36 yards to Dennis Berger. Godwin also scored on a 48-yard interception return. Khalil Williams added a 72-yard touchdown for the Cavaliers.
Lammot Brown scored the lone Dragon touchdown on a 2-yard run in the second quarter.
